Neston Nomads Development Team
Neston Nomads first introduced a football development pathway for young players over the age of 16 in 2008 to give younger players a safe and monitored route into adult football . It was found that players guided through under 18’s football through to U21 football developed and prepared themselves properly for Adult football and the numbers of players that were retained by the club that carried on playing football regularly increased.
Neston Nomads FC Development teams have consistently produced quality players who now play football for at least one of our three senior teams.
Paul Munnerley – Development Team Manager –
“My whole life is embodied with Neston Nomads. I have claret blood. My Father and Ian McKellar formed the club for myself and Chris when we were 11 years of age.
Some 37 years later I have been involved in the club for well over 20 years in total. I am immensely proud of my father’s role in this community club… Its a true legacy. The club will go on for years and years. It’s a massive part of our community. I was a defender by trade…. Hence my teams are built around forging the platform of setting a solid base at the back.
My development team are brand new. The intention is to ensure that our youngsters have a pathway. A pathway to the better leagues. My role in this is crucial. I will feed the youngsters into the West Cheshire teams when the time is right for their development. My ethos is around teamwork and development.”
